Oak House

Oak House

All

A beautiful historic Victorian semi-detached property sympathetically renovated and extended including the complete reinvention of the internal living area to create a modern open space living.

Renovation works included the original sash windows, coving and roof structure. The side porch was restored to its former glory and provides a fantastic focal point at the front of the house, which has gained much attention from neighbouring homeowners. Internal walls were removed to provide a large social area on the ground floor. The extension included bespoke large metal framed glazed doors which were made in America.

The glazed rood atriums compliment the doors and ensures the area is filled with light. The bathrooms included large chandeliers and bespoke concrete sinks which add to the uniqueness of the property. The original staircase was renovated and updated to current trends to include a bespoke metal handrail and spindles. The construction of pocket doors to the higher floors provides the ability to retain the open fell of the property whilst providing the opportunity for privacy when required.

This project was nominated by the architects to the Oxfordshire Preservation Trust Awards and received a highly commended certificate.
