A beautiful historic Victorian semi-detached property sympathetically renovated and extended including the construction of a substantial basement.

The engineering challenges on this project were considerable due to site space restrictions which affected the machinery that could be deployed. Contiguous piling was utilised to construct the basement together with a robust tanking system incorporating sophisticated dual water pumps.

The renovation works included reconditioning of existing sash windows and historic features such as coving and flooring. The extension included a large glass rooflight, zinc roofing finished with a sedum covering.

Modern building techniques utilised in the extension contrast sympathetically with the historic soul of the property preserving the historic building for the future whilst adding a further chapter demonstrating the modern trends of today.

Our client on this project nominated our company for the Master Builder Awards 2015. A much coveted national title very much revered within our industry. Following winning the regional award of Large Renovation Project of the Year we went onto to win the national title of this category and ultimately the overall title of Master Builder of the Year 2015.
