Moorland Surgery Completed August 2010

October 1, 2010

Construction of Extension at Moorland Surgery  Completed August 2010

This project involved an extension to a traditional Victorian style property utilised as a doctor’s surgery, which remained in use throughout the works. The foundations of the extension are formed by the reinforced concrete retaining structure of the semi basement whilst the superstructure is constructed of twin panel timber frame.

Prior to plastering the internal skin the cavity of the twin panel  frame was highly insulated and sealed for airtightness to exceed the latest standards.

Due to the use of the extension and privacy requirements needed between consulting rooms high standards of sound insulation were also adhered to.Externally the building was clad with natural stone and Chestnut boarding, whilst the high quality windows and external doors were imported from Poland. The existing carpark was also altered and resurfaced with a SUDS drainage system.
